Monuments, Horses and Arches

Arches
After Las Vegas we drove to different national parks:
At first we've visited Bryce Canyon, which I could remember the best of our first vacation in the USA. Even though I've already known it, it was so impressing and beautiful!
Then we drove to the Arches, that was when we had a little stop at dead horse point. It was both amazing!
Lastly we've visited Monument Valley and Grand Canyon.
My dad and I were hiking down and up the Grand Canyon which was an amazing experience, even if it was really exhausting! :-D
It was really great to see all those great things, and it's hard to imagine that nature has such an enormous strength to create such places.

At last we drove to Joshua tree park, where my brothers and I were just relaxing at the pool. But on our way to 29 Palms, we took the Route 66 and came to a little cafe, which also looked like a little died out motel. It was called "Roy's Motel/Cafe". When we arrived at our hotel we learned that it used to be a normal motel, when Route 66 was used more than it is now. We also got to know that some music videos partly took place at this cafe. For example: "This is what it feels like" - Armin van Buuren and "Hero"- Enrique Iglasias.
It was really great to see all those great things, and it's hard to imagine that nature has such an enormous strength to create such places.

Washington DC

At the airport, from Linz to Frankfurt
On 17th of July we got up early and went to the airport. It was the beginning of our vacation to the USA. You must know that I'm really in love with america and all what it brings. So, I was really looking forward to this day.
Our first destination was Washington DC. I haven't been there yet and I didn't really know what to expect. I was a bit surprised that it wasn't the typical american city, like those cities in the US I already knew. But after all I really liked that "small town" feeling that I got there also if it wasn't that small,  and even if I'm more a person that loves big cities.
In Washington we did a little sightseeing and shopping, so it was a great combination. We saw the white house (which I expected to be much bigger :-O), the capitol, the lincoln memorial and a lot of other things.

Now you can see some of my impressions of DC!

See you soon,

Kathi
